What always makes me wonder is when say rep Ireland are playing and it's on in an English pub ,most people will want them to do well or not bother watching but if the boot is on the other foot they all want the English to lose so who,s the people with the problem?

when I was going England games regular in the mid/late 80s to the early 90s I used to have a beer with a few Rangers lads in the Globe Baker St who come down to watch the England games

The Jocks are friendly have a laugh fans and are usually respectful and respected when they are abroad........except when they play England. Don't judge their manners by how they act to us.

I have rangers friends Boleyn and their fans were nothing on the scale of ours, hence why a few followed England instead.
And I see some Russians have now smashed up 3 Spanish tourists in Germany.

A lot of Scottish fans (ok just rangers) follow England Lily as they are embarrassed by their own friendly have a laugh support.
Some people just can't have fun without having a fight I suppose.
The Irish probably sold the Russians the weapons to fight us with ;o)

It's also the same in this country as a lot of police forces treat a West Ham fans differently to those from some other clubs.
Some fans play up to it, some avoid it as mentioned by RM10 and some act the cunt in safety by singing and throwing beer around inside the ground. Support includes all sorts.

Foreign police always deal with English fans differently to those from other countries.
When others are on the lash and having a sing, mainly the Welsh and Paddies as they are the closest to us, they are left to enjoy the craic but with the English the bars are closed sequentially, the police move the fans on and corral them, and then tear gas and baton them when the fans complain about the way they are treated.
And that is without other fans targeting them based on the 80's.

I suppose they were hiding, then. That is a shame and allows the terrorists to win. If there had been no aggro in Marseille, there would have been loads more English on the streets having a good night out........and perhaps, ironically, kicking off with the Welsh.
That's one good thing from the aggro. I quite like how the Welsh stood with us. No way of knowing for sure, but I wonder if the Jocks would have done the same.....possibly.

Lily- like i said where were the thousands of other England supporters? they used their common sense and found hotels bars etc,away from the hub, we use the same common sense here when away pubs are few.
